Citizens for the Educational Advancement of Alaska's Children |
Citizens for the Educational Advancement of Alaska's Children is an organization representing people and organizations concerned for the general welfare of school children of Alaska. CEAAC has been active in advocating for the adequate funding of education, including but not limited to the funding of school construction projects and appropriate funding increases to support public school programs.
It is CEAAC's position that all students in Alaska deserve adequate school facilities and excellent school programs. Children are too young and too powerless to speak for themselves on this issue. We sincerely believe that the responsible adults in Alaska-and that is all of us-need to be willing to step forward and advocate for the children of Alaska.

Voices for Education is an organization of parents, educators and community members working to improve public education for every Arizona child. The organization has three main goals: reduce class size in grades K-3 to no more than 18 students, increase parent Involvement in public schools and increase funding of public schools at the state level. |

El Dorado Education Foundation |
The El Dorado Education Foundation (EDEF) is a non-profit organization that recognizes excellence with financial incentives for teachers. In the past five years, the Foundation has awarded over $250,000 to educators who propose innovative projects to enhance learning. EDEF also works with the South Arkansas Community College to promote seminars for students and parents on How to Prepare and Pay for College. The El Dorado Education Foundation recently assisted in the establishment of the nation's first elementary and secondary school endowed chair program that enables the district to recruit outstanding talent to fill chair positions in mathematics, science and foreign language. EDEF also manages a program that recognizes excellent performance with annual monetary awards to teachers. |

The organization was established in May 2002 at the invitation of the Little Rock Public School District. The board is composed of the community's business, civic and educational leaders. The mission of the Alliance for College-Ready Public Schools, a non-profit charter management organization, is to open and operate a network of excellent small high-performing 9-12 and 6-8 public schools in historically underachieving, low income, overcrowded communities in Los Angeles that will significantly outperform other public schools in preparing students to enter and succeed in college. |

Berkeley Public Education Foundation & Berkeley School Volunteers |
In 1983, as Proposition 13 was just beginning to be felt in classrooms throughout the state, a group of parents and community leaders established the Berkeley Public Education Foundation with the stated mission of "restoring excellence in Berkeley public schools." With a volunteer Executive Director and a dedicated Board, the Foundation started small but through the years has galvanized both financial resources and the energy of our community to improve educational opportunity for students at all of Berkeley's 17 schools. Today, the Foundation remains a volunteer-based institution, staffed by a part-time Executive Director, a part-time Administrative Assistant, a full-time Director of Berkeley School Volunteers, and a part-time Outreach Coordinator. All programs are under the Board's direction. |

Boyle Heights Learning Collaborative |
The BHLC contributes to the education reform landscape by creating alliances and shared agendas among schools, parents and community members. BHLC strategies stimulate education reform efforts and create momentum for innovation. As an intermediary organization, the BHLC connects organizations with different constituencies, playing the role of convener in the local community. The BHLC brings together a diversity of perspectives and resources: school personnel, parents, researchers from local universities and constituencies external to the district, such as the business community. This alliance provides a window for civic groups to learn about the problems schools face in order to contribute effectively to their improvement. |

Marcus Foster Education Fund |
Established in 1973 by the OUSD Superintendent (for whom the organization was later named), Marcus Foster Education Fund has served Oakland for the last 30 years. Since then, the Institute has channeled resources into innovative programs and initiatives for the benefit of Oakland's public school students. Organizational activities continue to support D. Foster's vision that urban education can be transformed only when the community actively participates. Marcus Foster Education Fund was the first institute of its kind in the country, and has served as a blueprint for the development of more than 300 local educational funds throughout the United States. The Institute's mission is to develop relationships and mobilize resources that create opportunities for all children in the Oakland public schools to achieve excellence. |

The Ed Fund believes that strong public schools are critical to San Francisco's viability and that the community must take action to ensure their success. By acting as a bridge between the community and the classroom, the Ed Fund increases the availability and impact of resources for students and teachers throughout San Francisco public schools. |

The Urban Education Partnership's mission is to help students in high-need schools improve their academic achievement through collaborative partnerships with educators, parents, and the community. Public Education & Business Coalition (PEBC) is a Colorado-based non-profit partnership of business and education leaders committed to strengthening our public schools and improving academic achievement for all students. The program of work is organized around two central areas of focus, both of which guide the mission to cultivate excellence in public schools so all students succeed in learning and in life: PEBC's professional development services and products provide teachers, principals and administrators with intensive professional development and leadership training aimed at raising the performance level of those directly charged with educating our students. PEBC builds public awareness and understanding of fundamental education issues and needs, advocates for effective education polices and mobilizes the business community to support key initiatives at the ballot box. |

The Bridgeport Public Education Fund, Inc. commits itself to high quality public education for all children by responding to the need for increased community involvement in and support for public education. Originally chartered in 1983 as an independent Advise Fund for the Bridgeport Area Foundation, the Fund became an independent, tax-exempt, non-profit organization in 1993.
The Bridgeport Public Education Fund, Inc. develops programs and mobilizes the community for quality public education in Bridgeport. The goals are to increase the community's involvement in and support for the Bridgeport public schools, to strengthen communication between the educational, civic and business constituencies, to deepen awareness of excellence in our schools, to encourage and reward teacher's outstanding efforts through support for classroom projects and to develop programs and opportunities that will enrich and improve public education in Bridgeport.

Parents United for the D.C. Public Schools was founded in 1981 in the face of devastating teacher layoffs. Parents from all over the city came together to fight the budget cuts. Since then, the organization has acted as the parental conscience in education matters, advocating more effective and intelligent allocation of resources to the classroom, lower pupil/teacher ratios, effective fire inspections of the schools, the provision of school nurses and athletic trainers for every school and major athletic program, stiffer graduation requirements, more effective teacher evaluations and in policy-focused task forces on parental involvement, student enrollment, records security and other issues. |

The Education Fund |
The Education Fund (The Ed Fund) began in 1985 as a non-profit organization that designs, shapes and implements initiatives that involve the private sector in improving schools and bringing excellence to public education. These initiatives have directly affected 10,000 teachers in the Miami-Dade County Public Schools system, and more than 380,000 students.
The Ed Fund encourages the development and dissemination of innovative classroom curriculum by teachers, provides material resources to classrooms, improves libraries/media centers, promotes information and computer literacy among students and their families and fosters teacher leadership in schools. The Ed Fund's volunteer board of directors, composed of outstanding business, education and civic leaders from Miami-Dade County, continues to pursue new opportunities for improving our public schools.

The Alliance for World Class Education advocates for the students in Duval County Public Schools complementing the School Board and the Superintendent by leveraging resources and influence in areas where they can provide the greatest impact to create a world class education system. The Alliance for World Class Education deliberately focuses its efforts on being more strategic, intellectual and facilitative to affect positive change in Duval County's public education system. To that end, board members concentrate their energies in strategic areas in the Duval County Public School System: teacher quality and recognition; principal excellence; governance and organizational effectiveness; and supportive and beneficial public policy. |
